Hungarian millet porridge with roasted ham
Rich in magnesium and, like most grains, B vitamins as well. An ideal food for vegetarians, as it is a good source of protein. Cook covered, stirring occasionally, for 15–20 minutes until tender. Can also be prepared with half water, half milk. It also makes an excellent base for desserts.
Ingredients for 4 servings
- 8 slices of Abonett gluten-free corn extruded bread
- 100 g millet
- 1 red onion
- Paprika
Preparation
Cook the millet in twice its volume of water. It will be ready in about 10 minutes. Once cooked, leave it covered for a few more minutes to soften fully, then add the finely chopped onion and spices, and blend to a smooth cream with a hand blender.
